I sailed the Inspiration in August with a group of 8 women and we had a blast. The food was great. The entertainment was great. The staff was amazing. I'd love to sail on her again. By booking 15 months or so ahead, we can get great fares -- $60 to $100 per day per person, depending on what kind of room you choose, for an all-inclusive vacation!
Below are the dates that the Inspiration will sail the above itinerary between February and April 2011. I am suggesting these months because the fares are lower than, say, during the summer (and the weather is nicer than in the summer), but I want to hear what other people think. I'm flexible and can go pretty much any time, but I want to plan the trip when the most people from "the old days" will be able to join us.
The fares listed below are the lowest available fares for inside and ocean view cabins (per person, double occupancy) AS OF 11/14/09 and do not include taxes and govt. fees (approx. $40 per person when I took this cruise last summer) or suggested gratuities of $10 per day per person.
As you can see, the fares vary depending on when you sail. Around holidays and school vacations -- the most popular dates -- the fares go up. During the months shown below, early Feb. is the least expensive.
Keep in mind that cruise fares change constantly and are not guaranteed until a deposit is paid on a stateroom (for individual bookings) OR until I reserve a block of rooms as a group. Carnival considers a group to be 8 or more staterooms. As part of a group, we may get a lower rate and we should get some additional perks (such as some amount of On Board Credit -- cash deposited into our accounts to spend on the ship).
You can read about the Inspiration on the Carnival web site. You can also see some pictures of the ship here.
