Inside cabin with a view? Disney says YES!

From USA Today's Cruise Log with Gene Sloan:

Leave it to Disney to figure out how to give passengers in an inside cabin a view of the ocean. The line today is announcing the 150 inside cabins on its next ship, the Disney Dream, will have "virtual portholes" that will offer a window to the world outside the ship in real time.Disney Inside Cabins with a View

Disney says it will install high-definition cameras around the exterior of the 2,500-passenger ship that will feed live video to the "porthole" in every inside cabin. The video feeds will correspond to each cabin's location on the ship, so passengers will be seeing exactly what passengers in oceanview cabins near them are seeing

One twist: Disney says every now and then an animated Disney character such as Peach the starfish from Finding Nemo or even Mickey Mouse may appear in the virtual porthole (superimposed on the live outdoor feed to look as if they were outside the ship).

The virtual portholes are just one of several technological innovations planned for the new ship. For more information, read the complete article on USA Today.
